Privacy Policy
Typecast is a local party game. Almost nothing leaves your device. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect.
Short version: Typecast stores your game history and preferences locally on your device. The only data that leaves your phone is temporary game state shared with other players in an active session — and only for the duration of that session.
1. Who We Are
Typecast is a product of Hella Studios. You can reach us at help@hellastudios.games with any privacy questions.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to Hella Studios or any third party, except as described in Section 3.
- Your match history and scores
- Your drafted tropes and wagering history
- Your display name (used only within the app)
- Any app preferences or settings you configure
Deleting the app from your device permanently deletes all of this data. We have no way to recover it.
3. Multiplayer Game Sessions
When you create or join a game, temporary session data is shared with other players in the same game. This includes your display name, your drafted tropes (after the draft phase ends), and your score. This data exists only for the duration of the active session and is not stored on Hella Studios servers after the session ends.
Game codes are randomly generated, short-lived, and not linked to any account or identity.
4. Data We Do Not Collect
To be explicit: Hella Studios does not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials (there are no accounts)
- Your location
- Your match history or gameplay data
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Any device identifiers
5. App Store
Typecast is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When you download the app, Apple and Google collect information according to their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to that data.
6. Children
Typecast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and, where possible, notify you through the app. Continued use of Typecast after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
